note on retired horses races

<sub>Just a reminder that at THE WIRE we provide two races a year for retired grade one champions.

There is just one thing you need to remember:

IF YOUR RETIRED CHAMPION ENTERED IS A BROODMARE you need to make sure she isn't pregnant! Which means if you enter a mare in a race Y12 she cannot have a foal in Y13. Makes sense? Otherwise it wouldn't work. So you CAN enter a broodmare but she is not allowed to have a foal the following year.</sub>

Assuming that these are hypothetical races, not actually races, then it shouldn't matter if a mare is pregnant or not? The race certainly shouldn't be recorded on the horse's career record, that's for sure. These races for retired horses should be like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=cM5eV_KMp8Y

Did you guys watch the vid? Lol I loved it. They made it up last year for the 2011 Melbourne Cup Some of the horses in that have been dead for 100 years, and others are recent champions. Winner Phar Lap died in 1932, second place Carbine died in 1914 and third placer Makybe Diva retired from racing a couple years ago. She won three Melbourne Cups The point is that the retired horse races should be purely hypothetical, just for fun. Results judged by how amazing the horses were in their prime
